Edward Kelley Day 2026

Sunday, 7 June 2026, 10:00
Ends: Sunday, 7 June 2026, 17:00
Oblastní muzeum a galerie v Mostě / hrad Hněvín

Edward Kelley Day 2026 takes place on Sunday, 7 June 2026 from 10:00 to 17:00 at the Regional Museum and Gallery in Most and at Hněvín Castle.

This traditional family event by the City of Most continues a long-standing tradition celebrating the English alchemist Edward Kelley, who was imprisoned at Hněvín Castle in the late 16th century. The grounds host an adventure trail for children with stations dedicated to Kelley's life, theatrical performances, medieval combat demonstrations, falconry displays and a knight's encampment. A cultural programme on stage and market stalls with traditional crafts and refreshments are also part of the event.

At the same time, the Workshop of Master Kelley — a wooden mechanical installation recalling Kelley's life and his alchemical performances at the imperial court — is open at Hněvín Castle.

The event is organised by the City of Most in cooperation with the Regional Museum and Gallery in Most. Entry is traditionally free. The detailed 2026 programme will be confirmed by the organiser; up-to-date information is published on the City of Most website (www.mesto-most.cz) and in Mostecké listy. Contact: infocentrum@mesto-most.cz, tel. 476 448 220.
