Marienbad 2026: Film for Everyone?

The 11th Marienbad International Film Festival brings experimental cinema, marginal forms of filmmaking, contemporary moving image, audiovisual performances, and a music programme to the therapeutic landscape of Mariánské Lázně.

This year's theme is the question: Film for Everyone? At a time when the democratisation of filmmaking seems to have reached its apparent peak, the festival turns its attention to the tradition of amateur filmmaking in Mariánské Lázně as a source of alternative historical interpretation and resistance to the film industry. The programme gives space to underground films and the intersections of amateur and experimental cinema.
