Between Heaven, Faith and the Ocean
The Regional Museum and Gallery in Most presents a lecture on 28 May 2026 at 17:00 by local historian Jiří Šlajsna, entitled "Between Heaven, Faith and the Ocean". The lecture explores the missionary work of Bohemian and Moravian Jesuits in the 16th to 18th centuries — both within the home country and in overseas missions around the world.
The lecture places the Jesuit missions in a broader context: the missionary activity of Bohemian and Moravian Jesuits is understood not only as an instrument of church policy, but also as a significant phenomenon of cultural exchange and early modern globalisation. The lecture accompanies the MISSION exhibition and offers a perspective on an important chapter in Bohemian and Moravian history.
The event takes place at the Regional Museum and Gallery in Most, Čsl. armády 1360/35. Admission is charged — further details on the museum's website.
