Karlovy Vary Municipal Theatre presents the original Czech play Milena by screenwriter Marek Epstein, directed by Adéla Laštovková Stodolová, on Saturday, 20 June 2026 from 19:30.

The production follows the parallel lives of two remarkable figures in Czech cultural and social life: journalist, translator and publicist Milena Jesenská, and her daughter Jana Krejcarová – poet and visual artist. Despite living in different eras and holding different outlooks, their stories are bound together by an indomitable relationship with truth and freedom. This dual narrative unfolds against the backdrop of Czech 20th-century history – from the First Republic through the Protectorate to the post-war years.
