Night of Churches 2026 in Chodov

The Night of Churches 2026 in Chodov takes place on Friday, 29 May 2026 at the Church of St. Lawrence on Staroměstská Street. The event is organised by the Chodov Tourist Information Centre in cooperation with KASS Chodov. The church is open from 14:00 to 22:00, free admission.

Programme:

• 15:00–15:30, 16:00–16:30, 17:00–17:30, 18:00–18:30 — Tower climb with bell ringing (tickets at TIC Chodov)
• 16:30–17:30 and 19:30–20:30 — Guided tour of the church (guide: Miloš Bělohlávek)
• 19:00–19:05 — The whole diocese rings its bells

The Church of St. Lawrence was built between 1725 and 1733 by patron Franz Flamin von Plankenheim and architect Wolfgang Braunbock. This High Baroque single-nave building rests on foundations of 500 wooden piles driven into unstable clay soil. Highlights include the main altar from 1835 with paintings by Maurus Fuchs, a family crypt with the remains of 23 members of the Plankenheim family, and a Stations of the Cross from 1789.
