Head of the Supreme Mining and Metallurgical Administration in Jáchymov: Ing. František Babánek (1836–1910)

Lecture by MUDr. Vladimír Horák on Ing. František Babánek (1836–1910), head of the supreme mining and metallurgical administration in Jáchymov. The lecture examines his role in the history of Jáchymov mining and explores the discovery of radium and the founding of radon spa treatments in Jáchymov.

The lecture is part of a series organised to promote the inscription of the Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří Mining Region on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.
