A Novel for Women

The theatrical comedy A Novel for Women takes place on Friday 29 May 2026 at 19:30 at Karlovy Vary Municipal Theatre. The production is by Divadlo Koktejl; the show runs 120 minutes.

The play is an adaptation of the bestselling novel by Michal Viewegh, the most widely read Czech prose writer. Heroine Laura is an only child living with her mother. When she brings a man home one day, it turns out her mother knows him from long ago. The resulting situations unfold in witty yet deeply human dialogues about love, life stories, and interpersonal relationships. The novel was also successfully adapted for film.
