Gathering at the Maria Loreto Pilgrimage Site

The gathering at the Maria Loreto pilgrimage site takes place on Sunday 31 May 2026 as a Czech-German spiritual afternoon, linked to the restoration of the Baroque Stations of the Cross from Podhrad to the Maria Loreto pilgrimage site.

Coaches depart at 1 PM from Komenského sady in Cheb and from the bus station in Waldsassen. The main programme starts at 2 PM with a welcome by representatives of Cheb and Waldsassen, followed by a Mass and a musical performance of Habermann's Missa Sancti Adalberti.

At 3:45 PM the restored wayside chapels will be blessed. Participants will travel to the chapels on foot or by minibuses (combined route approx. 3 km). Afterwards there will be a communal gathering with refreshments and musical entertainment, including Dvořák's Biblical Songs performed by Jan Fraus and Eva Vimrová.

• 13:00 – Coach departure from Komenského sady in Cheb and from Waldsassen bus station

• 15:45 – Blessing of restored chapels; transfer on foot or by minibus
• After return – Communal gathering with refreshments and music
• 18:00 – Coach return to Cheb and Waldsassen
