Days of Traditional Crafts at Essig Schneider

As part of the Saxon Days of Traditional Crafts, the family-run Essig Schneider manufactory in Colmnitz near Klingenberg opens its doors on Sunday 18 October 2026 from 10 am to 5 pm.

The highlight is mustard production on a traditional mill with millstones — in a paid workshop visitors can grind their own mustard. The day also features the company museum, blacksmithing at the field forge, woodcraft with carved and turned figures, lace-making, floristry and a mushroom exhibition. Refreshments and the farm shop with vinegars, mustards and regional products are available on site.

Admission is free; the workshop has a fee. An ideal non-festival autumn food trip to the eastern Ore Mountains.
