ZPĚVÁČEK – Regional Finals of the Children's Folk Song Competition

Karlovy Vary hosts the regional finals of the ZPĚVÁČEK children's singing competition. The Small Hall of Hotel Thermal welcomes the finest young folk song performers, coming from all regions of Bohemia and parts of Moravia. They qualified through local and regional rounds of a competition designed to promote children's natural singing talent and their conscious regional identity.

The regional finals rotate to a different host city each year. This year they return to Karlovy Vary after 7 years, taking place on Saturday 23 May 2026 in the Small Hall of Hotel Thermal.

Children aged 10 to 15 are judged by a professional jury. The best performers go on to represent their region at the national finals in Brno, at the Strážnice folklore festival, or are invited to record for Czech Radio.
