AREÁL Plešivec

AREÁL Plešivec is a year-round mountain resort on the summit of Plešivec, 1,028 m above sea level, in the heart of the Ore Mountains near Abertamy. It is one of the most varied mountain complexes in Bohemia: winter skiing, summer bike trails, a bobsleigh track, rope attractions and family activities all share the same hillside.

Winter season: skiing and snowtubing

In winter, Plešivec is one of the key ski resorts in the Ore Mountains. The area has 7 modern lifts and 8.5 km of slopes with artificial snowmaking. Visitors can also use night skiing, a children's park and snowtubing.

The certified Plešivec ski school teaches beginners and more advanced skiers. Lessons last a full 60 minutes and are led by professional instructors.

Summer season: trail park and bobsleigh track

Summer on Plešivec is just as active. Trailpark Plešivec, developed under the guidance of three-time fourcross world champion Michal Prokop, offers 15 km of downhill MTB trails across different difficulty levels:

• Helen (blue) - 5.5 km, gently descending, suitable for families with children
• Niki (red) - 4.2 km, natural surface, rock features and the Valach descent
• Rock n Rolla (red) - a distinctive route over stone blocks, unusual even by wider European standards
• Daniela (black) - 1.3 km enduro route for experienced riders
• Jelena Extreme (black) - 2.2 km for technically skilled bikers only
• Jump Line - jump trail with blue, red and pro levels

Modern four-seat chairlifts carry riders and visitors toward the top. A RockMachine bike rental is available in the area.

The summer bobsleigh track offers two ways to ride: a calmer descent with views of Abertamy and the surrounding mountains, or a faster, more adrenaline-focused ride reaching up to 40 km/h. Riders return uphill by lift.

Rope park and family attractions

The connected AREÁL Plešivec on the mountainside adds nine attractions for families and active visitors:

• Rope centre with medium and difficult routes
• Children's rope centre adapted for younger visitors
• Giant swing for a strong adrenaline hit
• Free fall from 16 metres
• Bungee trampoline with safety harness
• Children's playground and picnic facilities
• Nordic walking and educational trails

Near the summit, the Mythical Trail uses stories and carved figures to turn a mountain walk into an easy family outing.

Practical information

The rope park is open weekends and public holidays, 11:00-17:00, depending on the weather. Trailpark Plešivec starts the summer season on 1 May; in May it is open Saturday-Sunday, 10:00-17:00. The rope park accepts cash payment in CZK or EUR. Group discounts and summer camps are available.

Food and drink are available at Restaurant Plešivec and the U Dostyho bar with an outdoor grill. Accommodation is possible directly in the area at Hotel Plešivec or Horská chata Zelené Údolí.
