Bečov Botanical Garden is a revived historic garden in the valley of the Teplá River, continuing the legacy of the Beaufort alpine garden and collection garden from the first half of the 20th century. Before the Second World War it was one of the important botanical collections in Bohemia; after decades of decline, it has been gradually restored since 2005 as a place for learning, relaxation and family-friendly outdoor activities.
The grounds cover about 12 hectares, including intensive displays, the water areas of Korunní pond, an orchard and more natural parts of the site. The garden lists more than 10,000 cultivated plant species. Highlights include mature trees from the original garden era, collection plantings, the restored alpine garden, a wetland trail and the first Czech bioferrata.
Visit
Admission includes a self-guided visit to the garden, use of a printed guide, boat rides on Korunní pond, children's interactive play elements, sports facilities and a multipurpose playground. In summer the garden also works well as a slower stop by the water, a picnic place or a longer family break during a visit to Bečov nad Teplou.
The eco-centre runs programmes year-round in its indoor classroom by the fish ponds. The garden may close for operational reasons or in poor weather, so it is worth checking the current status before travelling outside the main season.

Practical Information
This is an outdoor garden with slopes, paths, water areas and recreational features, so comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended. Visitors with reduced mobility can arrange an individual visit solution with the garden in advance.
