GOEtrail at Goethova vyhlídka

GOEtrail is a downhill mountain-bike trail at Goethova vyhlídka above Karlovy Vary. It is short, free to use and, thanks to optional line choices, can suit both recreational riders and more experienced bikers.

Trails

The trail is 2 km long and uses a shaped surface with berms, natural and artificial obstacles and four wooden features including the Da Vinci bridge. Sections are marked similarly to ski pistes: blue for easier lines, red for medium difficulty and black for the hardest options.

Admission

Access is free and no booking is required. There is no uplift or return transport to Goethova vyhlídka; the operator says an averagely fit rider can climb back to the lookout on forest roads in about 20 minutes.

Practical information

The usual season is roughly from mid-April to the end of October, depending on weather. A helmet is mandatory and additional protectors are strongly recommended. The trail is intended for mountain bikes; road, city and trekking bikes are not suitable.
