Fly-Line Fichtelberg

Flyline Oberwiesenthal / Liftgesellschaft Oberwiesenthal mbH · Vierenstraße 3b, 09484 Kurort Oberwiesenthal, Sachsen, Deutschland

Fly-Line Fichtelberg is a 1,550 m forest attraction above Oberwiesenthal, sitting neatly between a scenic ride and a small shot of adrenaline. It is not an extreme high-speed zipline; the appeal is a smoother, almost silent suspended glide past trees, with Ore Mountain air on your face and Oberwiesenthal opening below. For families, couples and groups of friends, it is one of the clearest summer reasons to cross from the Czech side via Boží Dar to the Fichtelberg area.

Ride

The visit has an easy rhythm: sort out your ticket at the Vierenstraße base, ride the four-seater chairlift up the Fichtelberg slope, then return downhill on the suspended Flyline. Before you start, the team gives you instructions and safety equipment, so the experience also works well for first-timers.

Flyline is a good choice when you want a mountain day to have a proper highlight without turning it into a performance sport. Combine it with a walk on Fichtelberg, a ride on the Fichtelberg Cable Car, the steam Fichtelbergbahn or a relaxed stop in Oberwiesenthal.

Practical information

Flyline is a seasonal attraction, planned from May to October. The main 2026 operating hours are listed as Wednesday-Monday 10:00-16:30, with Tuesday closed; the last ride in either direction is at 16:20. Operation depends on the weather: rain, storms, strong wind or wet conditions can close the Flyline for safety reasons, so check the weather and webcams before setting off.

Riders must weigh 20-120 kg. Closed, sturdy shoes are mandatory, and loose items, including phones, must be safely stowed. A small waist bag worn close to the body is allowed. Larger luggage can travel separately down by chairlift, and lockers are available at the lower station.
