Hroznětín Rocks – Johanka and Flašnerské skály
Hroznětínské skály · Hroznětín, 362 33 Hroznětín
The Hroznětín rocks rise in the woods above the town, where the foothills meet the Krušné hory slopes. Climbing sources also refer to parts of the area as Flašnerské skály, while Johanka is a separate, cleaner slab above Hroznětín. This is a local, quiet destination rather than a major sightseeing monument, but it is rewarding for visitors interested in rock, forest and climbing history.
What to See
Lezec separates the Hroznětín rocks into upper and lower parts: the lower rocks are easier to reach and more straightforward, while the upper rocks are wilder, more broken and harder to navigate. The ČHS database lists roughly ninety routes around fifteen metres high. Johanka adds a clean granite slab, described in the local guide as up to seventeen metres high and suited to easier climbing.
Practical Information
The common approach to Johanka starts near the school in Hroznětín, continues by the gardens and then into the forest. For the Flašnerské skály sectors, expect uneven woodland terrain that can be slippery after rain. ČHS notes older fixed gear in the area, so climbers should assess protection carefully and carry suitable equipment.
