Agricola Spa Centre is a modern wellness complex in the heart of Jáchymov, one of the world's historic spa towns known for radon therapy. The centre combines an aquacentre with a 25 m swimming pool, a mining-themed Sauna Mine and a wide range of wellness treatments. It is used both by guests of Jáchymov spa hotels and by day visitors from across the Karlovy Vary Region.
Aquacentre
The core of the complex is formed by two 25 m swimming lanes with water at around 28 °C, useful for morning training or relaxed length swimming. The leisure section adds massage jets and two heated whirlpools at about 35 °C. Older children will enjoy the waterslide, while younger visitors have a children's paddling pool with a small waterfall at about 32 °C. A Kneipp walkway alternates warm and cold water, and a rehabilitation pool rounds out the water area. In summer, the outdoor terrace opens with sun loungers and a grassy relaxation area.
Sauna Mine
The sauna area has its own personality. It is themed around the rich mining past of Jáchymov, where silver, bismuth and later uranium ores were mined from the 16th century onwards. The Sauna Mine includes:
- Finnish sauna: classic dry heat
- Herbal sauna: aromatic vapours and a calmer temperature profile
- Infrared sauna with salt surface: deep warming in a quieter setting
- Steam sauna with essential oils: moist heat with aromatic steam
- Cooling pool and tepidarium: for completing the sauna cycle properly
- Barefoot path: a reflexology walk across different surfaces
Free drinking water is available in the sauna complex. Towels can be rented on site.
Salt Cave, Cold Therapy and Wellness
The salt cave offers a quiet, mineral-atmosphere break between swimming, sauna and spa treatments. A cryocabin is also available for short cold exposure, often used as part of regeneration routines.
The centre offers a broad menu of relaxation and recovery treatments, including Thai massage, hot-stone massage, chocolate massage, classic massage, aromatic and bubble baths, lymphatic drainage, pressure therapy and solarium sessions.
Visitors who prefer outdoor movement can join Nordic walking sessions in the Jáchymov area. Group classes such as pilates, yoga and aquafitness also take place in the centre; check the current schedule before visiting.
