Diana Mini Zoo

Diana Mini Zoo is a calm family stop in the Diana excursion area above Karlovy Vary. It sits close to the other Diana attractions, especially the observation tower, restaurant and Butterfly House, so it fits easily into a half-day trip by funicular or on foot through the spa forests. For children it is a natural reward on the way up; for adults it is a gentle pause between viewpoints, coffee and forest walks.

The mini zoo is a freely accessible enclosure where visitors can see Göttingen minipigs, Cameroon goats, Shetland ponies and peacocks moving around the grounds. Its local symbol is Frosty, a snow-white peacock. This is not a large classic zoo, but a smaller, contact-style animal area where children can safely watch domestic and exotically coloured animals from close range.

What to Expect

When the animals come to the fence, gentle petting is allowed with care. Feeding by visitors is forbidden to protect the animals' health, and entry directly into the enclosure is not currently possible. Plan the mini zoo as a short, pleasant stop: watch the animals, take a few photos, spend a moment at the children's playground and continue to the lookout tower or the Butterfly House.

Practical Information

Diana Mini Zoo usually opens from 9:00, with shorter winter hours and longer summer hours. The Diana grounds often have a planned closure in January and February. Access to the enclosure is free. The easiest way up is the Diana funicular from Grandhotel Pupp; you can also walk from the spa district or use routes from nearby parking areas in the spa forests.
