Mattoni Museum

The Mattoni Museum in Kyselka is housed in the historic Löschner Pavilion, a building linked to the early bottling of Kyselka mineral water. It is a place where the story of the Mattoni brand can be read directly in the landscape that shaped it: in a former spa area by the Ohře River, among springs, pavilions and traces of past industrial and spa glory.

The exhibition presents the history of Mattoni 1873 and its founder, Heinrich Edler von Mattoni. The building is named after Dr Josef Löschner, a physician and important collaborator in promoting the beneficial qualities of the local mineral springs. From 1907, the Löschner Pavilion served as a bottling plant for mineral water from the spring of the same name; bottling here ended in the second half of the 1970s.

Exhibition

Inside, visitors find historical documents, period photographs, trademark certificates, business correspondence, maps and building plans connected with the development of Kyselka. A strong part of the museum is its collection of historic bottles and labels, showing how Kyselka mineral water and the Mattoni brand changed from the 19th century to the present.

The exhibition also includes interactive elements, animated projections and original advertisements. The museum is therefore not just a display of objects, but an accessible story of how a regional mineral water became a brand known far beyond the Karlovy Vary Region. Original sculptures from the former Kyselka spa complex are another distinctive feature.

Admission

Payment is possible only in cash in CZK.

Practical Information

The museum is open daily except Monday from 9:00 to 16:00, with the last tour starting at 15:00. Groups of more than 15 people must book their visit in advance. Dogs are not allowed inside the museum.
