Wax Figure Museum

The Wax Figure Museum fills the neo-Gothic Church of St Luke with a classic Karlovy Vary curiosity: famous faces, period costumes and the atmosphere of a former church interior. The setting is part of the visit, with stained-glass windows, carved woodwork in the vaulted ceiling and a projection of historical films of Karlovy Vary from 1919 to 1934.

Exhibition

The display presents well-known personalities from the past 120 years: famous visitors to Karlovy Vary, royal families, presidents, politicians, military figures, music and screen stars, athletes and other recognisable figures from world culture. The wax figures are handmade and dressed in costumes that match the period of each personality.

The exhibition also touches on the long tradition of wax displays, whose history reaches back to the 18th century. It works best as an easy indoor stop between spa walks, especially when you want a short attraction with a slightly unusual setting.
