Perštejn Rocks
Perštejnské skály · Perštejn, 431 63 Perštejn
Perštejn Rocks form a broad area on the left bank of the Ohře between Boč and Perštejn. The river cuts a wooded valley here, and orthogneiss walls rise directly above cottages, paths and the water. For the middle Ohře valley this is a traditional climbing venue, but it is also interesting for visitors who want to experience the rocky landscape between the Krušné hory and Doupovské hory.
What to See
Lezec lists roughly 120 routes in seventeen sectors, and the printed guide presents the area as mostly easier to mid-grade climbing with a few more demanding lines. The main massif stands on the left bank about half a kilometre upstream from Perštejn. The rock is orthogneiss: broken, edged and sometimes steep, with slabs, corners and vertical sections.
Practical Information
Access depends on the chosen sector because the area stretches along the river and cottage zone. Move and park considerately. Some routes use pitons, bolts and glue-in bolts, while others require natural protection. In less visited parts, expect vegetation, looser blocks and the need for careful route-finding.
