Šindelová Natural Swimming Area - Tajch Pond

Přírodní koupaliště Šindelová – rybník Tajch · Šindelová, 357 01 Šindelová

Tajch Pond is the summer heart of Šindelová, a village in the western Ore Mountains about ten kilometres north of Kraslice. One shore is used for natural swimming, another for quiet sport fishing, and directly by the water there is a simple campsite. The result is a relaxed foothill lake where you can swim, stay overnight or use the area as a base for walks and cycling.

The village lies at about 598 metres above sea level, surrounded by meadows and forests. Tajch is large enough for proper swimming and still small enough to feel local. The main bathing shore has mown grass and a wooden pontoon with railings; the water is natural and untreated.

Activities

Swimming is at your own risk; there is no lifeguard. The pontoon gives comfortable access to the water, but jumping from it is not allowed. Bring normal outdoor-swimming gear and expect a natural pond rather than a managed pool.

Sport fishing is possible with a permit issued by the municipality of Šindelová. Seasonal, daily and weekend permits are available in limited numbers and fishing follows the local rules.

Camping is available at Kemp Na Tajchu. The campsite has drinking water from the municipal supply, toilets, washrooms and reception. Electricity is available by arrangement with the site manager near reception and the washrooms.

A restaurant, Restaurace Na Tajchu, stands close to the bathing shore.
