Prelát Nature Park

Prelát Nature Park lies on the edge of Mariánské Lázně where urban greenery gradually gives way to forest. It is a freely accessible meadow with a stream, granite boulders, two ponds and pleasantly varied terrain that feels more natural than a classic town playground. The place is named after Prelát Spring, which was discovered in this corner many years ago.

Prelát is especially popular with families with children, but it also works as a calm starting point for a walk into the spa forests. In 2012 the town of Mariánské Lázně built low rope obstacles and natural play elements here. The rope park is operated by the town and managed by the Mariánské Lázně House of Children and Youth, Dráček. Current information and operating rules are posted directly on information boards in the area.

What to do here

The greatest charm of Prelát is that it is not a closed attraction, but a natural space for an easy outdoor stay. Children can use the rope obstacles, climbing elements and natural play features, while adults can enjoy a short walk around the stream and ponds. The meadow and forest edge create a pleasant place for a picnic, rest or a stop during a longer route through Mariánské Lázně.

The area is also the starting point of the nature trail through the spa forests around Mariánské Lázně. The route begins at Prelát Spring in the natural children's playground area, follows promenade paths and historically interesting places in the spa surroundings, and ends at Hamelika Lookout Tower, from where the second part returns as a loop. This makes Prelát a good place to shape the outing either as a short family stop or as a longer walk into the forests and viewpoints.

Practical information

The nature park is an outdoor area with no admission fee. Access is only on foot or by bicycle, and the nearest parking is about 500 metres from the park. Because of the natural character of the site, sturdier footwear is useful, especially after rain. When using the rope elements, respect the operating rules on site and bear in mind that individual play elements may be temporarily limited because of maintenance or weather.
