Rock Town near Stříbrná
Skalní město u Stříbrné · Stříbrná, 358 01 Stříbrná
The Rock Town near Stříbrná lies in forested terrain above the Rájecké valley, between Stříbrná and Přebuz. Quartzite towers, blocks and walls are scattered through the slope. After part of the forest was cleared, many lines that had been hidden among the trees became visible, and the area developed into one of the notable climbing destinations of the western Krušné hory.
What to See
ČHS lists towers around 3-20 metres high and more than a hundred routes. The printed guide mentions early ascents from the 1990s and a later wave of new routes after 2004. Many lines have bolts or glue-in bolts, but cams and other natural protection are still useful. The character is varied: short towers, walls, corners, slabs and more mossy corners.
Practical Information
Access is usually from the Stříbrná-Přebuz road, turning from the Rájecké valley onto the green-marked trail towards Špičák; a larger parking area is described shortly before the turn. Some rock is weathered, and the surface becomes very slippery after rain or prolonged damp weather. Dry conditions, sturdy footwear and a sector map are recommended.
