Siebensäure Bog Trail

Siebensäure Bog Trail is a short interpretive access point to a mountain raised bog west of Neudorf in Sehmatal. At the edge of the bog remnant, an oak boardwalk of roughly 100 m leads to interpretation and activity elements; it works best as a quiet nature stop on a walk around Siebensäure or from Vierenstraße.

Visit

The trail is an outdoor, self-guided stop with no booking requirement. Naturpark Erzgebirge/Vogtland describes how the former log causeway, closed in 2016 for safety reasons, was replaced by a new oak boardwalk that was handed over for public use in 2020. Siebensäure is a remnant raised bog at about 810-825 m above sea level. According to Naturpark material, peat cutting and drainage reduced the original bog area; parts of the site have been protected since 1982 as a local natural monument.
