Svatošské Rocks
Svatošské skály · Svatošské skály, 357 31 Loket
Svatošské Rocks are a landmark rock town in the Ohře valley between Karlovy Vary and Loket. Pillars, walls and towers rise from the left bank of the river, and their shapes gave rise to the legend of a wedding party turned to stone. The formations are one of the classic excursion goals of the Karlovy Vary area and are also a long-established climbing venue.
What to See
Lezec lists the main formations as Svatoš, Nevěsta with Ženich, Páter, Svědkové, Muzikanti, Tchán, Tchýně and Zámek, plus the separate Samotář tower. The walls can reach around fifty metres and offer mostly vertical, broken climbing. The existing Czech POI already covers the landscape and nature-protection context; this translation adds the climbing-source references from the scans and Lezec.
Practical Information
Access is usually from Doubí or along the Ohře valley cycle and walking route; motor-vehicle access directly to the rocks is restricted. The area lies in protected landscape, so stay on paths, respect seasonal or local restrictions and do not disturb the river corridor. For climbing, use current ČHS/Lezec information and appropriate gear.
