Tierpark Klingenthal
Tierpark Klingenthal · Amtsberg 22, 08248 Klingenthal, Germany
Tierpark Klingenthal sits right on the Czech-Saxon border in the small Vogtland mountain town of Klingenthal, long renowned as a centre of musical instrument making. An unassuming place with over forty animal species that draws hundreds of visitors from both sides of the border each year – not least because it is easily reached by train from Kraslice.
At the entrance, alpacas greet visitors – irresistible to every age group. Further in await rhesus macaques, dwarf and domestic goats, ponies, deer, pheasants and a range of other birds. In summer the Streichelgehege opens, letting children stroke guinea pigs and dwarf rabbits. The compact grounds with two playgrounds – featuring climbing frames, children's diggers and a roundabout – are tailor-made for a visit with small children.
What to See
Alpacas, rhesus macaques, dwarf and domestic goats, ponies, deer, pheasants and small animals. Petting area in summer. Two playgrounds, café on site. Allow one to two hours.
