Via Ferrata Hausberg Kraslice

Via Ferrata Hausberg Kraslice is a compact protected climbing area on Hradiště / Hausberg above the town of Kraslice. It sits in the wooded slope around the archaeological remains of former Neuhaus Castle, so a short via ferrata outing naturally combines with views into the Svatava valley and the local robber-knight legend of Hausberg. This is not an all-day mountain route; it is a quick sport stop that works well together with the Loupežnická trail or a walk through the town woods.

Routes

The area consists of three small rock outcrops with colour-marked variants. Alpský vůdce lists about 80 m of climbing, an approach of roughly 20 minutes, a descent of about 5 minutes and an overall B/C grade. The more detailed KČT sheet describes B, C and D variants: the easier blue A/B line leads across the main rock to the viewpoint, the shorter black branch climbs more directly towards the rope bridge, and the red C line is technical but short. Admission

The via ferrata is freely accessible without a ticket or reservation. There is no rental desk or staffed operation on site; bring your own via ferrata set, harness, helmet and the skills required for protected climbing routes.

Practical Information

KČT notes that the approach can be poorly marked in the field, so phone navigation or an offline map is useful. From parking in Kraslice, expect about 20-30 minutes of uphill walking; the forest and rock are best in dry conditions. The easier blue variant is suitable for beginners and fitter children with competent supervision, while the black and red variants should be treated as sportier sections. Avoid the route after rain, in ice or in snow.
