Wildpark Osterzgebirge

Wildpark Osterzgebirge · Dresdner Straße 37, 01778 Geising/Hartmannmühle, Germany

Wildpark Osterzgebirge lies in the romantic hamlet of Hartmannmühle near Geising on the Saxon side of the Erzgebirge, a short drive from the Moldava border crossing. It is a park with an unusual concept that appeals equally to nature lovers and families: in a genuine mountain forest, native Central European species and exotic animals from distant continents live side by side.

Native residents include lynx, wild boar, fallow deer, badgers, foxes and mink. Alongside them, white-tufted marmosets, coatis, meerkats, Asian dwarf otters and Bennett's wallabies thrive in spacious, naturally designed enclosures. Emus complete the exotic ensemble. No concrete, no plastic scenery – just forest, earth and animals.

What to See

The park is designed as a peaceful forest walk: well-kept paths, enclosures integrated naturally into the terrain. A full circuit takes one and a half to two hours. The gentle topography and clear layout are pram-friendly and suitable for families with young children.
