Wildpark Waldhaus Mehlmeisel
Wildpark Waldhaus Mehlmeisel · Waldhausstraße 100, 95694 Mehlmeisel, Germany
Wildpark Waldhaus Mehlmeisel is set in the forests of the Bavarian Fichtelgebirge, just 35 km from Cheb. It is a nature park in the truest sense: no concrete pavilions, no tropical animals – only Central European forest wildlife in spacious, naturally designed enclosures. Deer, roe deer, wild boar, chamois, foxes and other species are presented in a setting that closely echoes their natural habitats.
A key attraction is the guided feeding tour held daily at 14:00 year-round, with an additional round at 16:30 in summer. The guides offer lively commentary on animal behaviour, feeding strategies and the animals' ecological roles – making the park equally engaging for adults and school-age children.
What to See
European forest wildlife in a natural setting: deer, roe deer, wild boar, chamois, mouflon, foxes. The park is fully accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Dogs are warmly welcome – admission €0. Waldhaus Mehlmeisel also runs a restaurant and guesthouse right beside the park.
