From Františkovy Lázně to Ptačí rybník and the Amerika pond
An easy, flat loop from the spa centre of Františkovy Lázně around the ponds of the Amerika forest park. Full route 7.1 km, shortened 6.7 km — both comfortably passable with a regular pram.

The Route Step by Step
START – Františkovy Lázně, spa centre
Starting point by the music pavilion in the spa park. Parking in the town centre; the railway station is about 1 km away.
West through the spa woods
The route leaves the spa park and continues west on compacted paths between meadows and patches of woodland.
Ptačí rybník (Bird Pond)
The westernmost point of the loop. A quiet corner of the pond system where waterfowl can be observed.
Where the variants split
The variants divide here. The full route circles the Amerika pond along its southern shore; the shortened one heads straight along the northern dam past the bird hide.
Amerika pond
The largest pond of the system (60 ha) — its western part is a nature reserve, and a wooden ornithological hide stands on the northern dam. By the eastern shore there is a small zoo corner, a playground and refreshments.
FINISH – Františkovy Lázně
Back along the eastern edge of the forest park to the spa centre.

A bird paradise at Amerika
The Amerika pond is a nature reserve and one of the most valuable waterfowl nesting sites in the Karlovy Vary Region. From the wooden hide on the dam you can watch gulls, coots, grebes and swans.
Fine with a regular pram
Both variants follow flat, compacted paths with virtually no climbing — you can manage them with a regular pram without restrictions.
A UNESCO spa town
Františkovy Lázně is one of the Great Spa Towns of Europe on the UNESCO list. The loop starts right among the colonnades and pavilions of the spa centre.
A walk for every season
With minimal elevation gain, the route is pleasant all year round — in spring and autumn the pond system fills with migrating birds.
