Drei-Talsperren-Marathon 2026

Drei-Talsperren-Marathon is a traditional one-day sports event in Eibenstock and one of Saxony's toughest scenic marathons. In 2026 it takes place on Saturday, 19 September, following the organiser's rule of the third Saturday in September. Start and finish are traditionally at Bretschneider Sportstätte on Bühlstraße in Eibenstock.

The programme combines running and mountain-bike distances. Runners can choose the 42.19 km marathon, 23.2 km half marathon or 8.2 km short route; mountain bikers race over 30, 50 or 100 km. The routes lead through the Erzgebirge/Vogtland Nature Park and the landscape around the three reservoirs of Eibenstock, Carlsfeld and Sosa. The race area usually also hosts a sport and family programme on competition day.

If you do not want to wait for the September race day, the same brand can also be experienced as the year-round/permanent DTM-Jederzeit challenge. It uses a digital starter pass and smartphone checkpoints, offers running and MTB routes, and in practice is intended mainly for the 1 April to 30 November period when the organiser lists the routes as usable.
